Pick Up from Entebbe– Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Visit Kasoga Community
On arrival at Entebbe Airport, meet our company representative for pick up and briefing about your 5-day Uganda gorillas wildlife safari. Later, set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the most visited parks in Uganda to encounter Uganda kobs.
Morning Chimpanzee Trekking – Afternoon Boat Cruise – Evening Game Drive
After having your breakfast, go Kalinzu Forest Reserve for chimpanzee trekking. Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve is home to over 6 primate species, about 379 species of birds, 414 tree species, approximately 261 butterfly species and other wildlife species. Once you meet chimpanzees, you will have 1 hour of watching them carrying out their daily activities such as grooming their babies, hunting and jumping in tree branches. Later, return to your lodge to have refreshments, lunch and then go for your afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. In the Kazinga Channel, you'll see hippos, crocodiles and a variety of bird species. After your afternoon boat cruise, have a short break to relax. Later go for your evening game drive in Kasenyi track in search of the big predators of the park such as lions, leopards and spotted hyenas since they are so active during evening hours and early morning hours. Later return to your lodge to relax, have dinner and an overnight stay.
Game Drive through Ishasha Sector –Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up early to have your breakfast, check out and drive to Ishasha to look for tree-climbing lions, elephants, Cape buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and warthogs among others. Have a short lunch break and later drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the home to the endangered mountain gorillas and one of the oldest forests in Uganda.
Mountain Gorilla Trekking – Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
Today after having your heavy breakfast, drive to the park information offices for a briefing about the dos and don’ts to follow during gorilla trekking. Later start your guided forest walk with a ranger guide to search for the giant endangered mountain gorillas. During your walk, you may encounter other wildlife species besides gorillas such as chimpanzees, black and white Columbus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bush pigs, forest elephants, many bird species, butterflies and many others. The time taken while looking for mountain gorillas depends on the location and movements of the allocated gorilla family. You will spend a maximum of 1 hour watching them, taking photos, and following their moves. Ask your ranger as many questions as possible. Return to the starting point to pick up your tracking certificate, enjoy your lunch and later drive to Lake Bunyonyi for a canoeing experience the following day.
